Introducing Sara and Adam.

The Scott & Wilkinson bookkeeping department are delighted to welcome Sara Ramsden who joined them earlier this month and, early in July, Adam Mattinson joined us as a trainee accountant in Gareth Westworth’s team. Both are proving to be great additions to the firm.

An old boy of Lancaster Royal Grammar School, Adam Mattinson has joined us after completing his a BTEC in Business at Lancaster and Morecambe College. Rather than apply to university and take on a student loan, he has chosen to ‘earn while he learns’ and is currently studying for his FIA (Foundation in Accounting), after which he will continue working towards being a Certified Accounts Technician and then a fully qualified accountant. Scott & Wilkinson has a proud history of supporting its trainees by financing exams and offering paid study leave.

Adam has already proved a valuable member of the firm’s football team, helping them to victory at the recent Lloyds tournament. And when it comes to the firm’s fundraising efforts, he has confessed to being a poor baker, but a keen consumer of sweet things and is looking forward to the firm’s legendary cake stall for Children in Need.

Sara however, thoroughly enjoys baking with her grandchildren. Born and bred just down the road in Morecambe, she attended Heysham High School before settling down to raise her family. Sara later developed her bookkeeping skills in industry, working with well-known local businesses including Canon Hygiene and Morecambe Bay Wines.  She also worked in the civil service as a as a non-domestic caseworker in Lancaster’s valuation office, something she likes to keep quiet!

Despite her ridiculously youthful looks, Sara recently took time off to celebrate her daughter’s wedding and look after her grandchildren.
