Our Rugby Playing Claims To Fame.

Scott & Wilkinson are well known for being an enthusiastic bunch of sports fanatics, keen to support and attend local tournaments and events. However, we have to admit that sometimes our enthusiasm triumphs over our ability. Thankfully, in the case of Lisa Stott's grown-up children Sally and Sam, outstanding ability has led to outstanding success.
Sam and Sally began their rugby careers locally, playing mini and junior rugby at Vale of Lune. They both went on to represent and captain Lancashire County and North of England. Most of us would be delighted with achieving that amount of success, but the story continues.
Sally played three seasons for England U20 and currently plays for the British Army Women’s Rugby Union (as an Officer Cadet) as she is in her final year at Edinburgh University where she is studying Veterinary Medicine. Just two weeks ago, Sally scored two tries for Edinburgh Women’s Rugby Union in her 5th successive Scottish Varsity match at Murrayfield. Happily Edinburgh triumphed 52-0 over St Andrew's University. She has also played at Twickenham for EULRFC in the BUCS Championship Final in 2017.
Sam, who attended LRGS and was 1st XV captain in his upper six year at school, currently plays for Preston Grasshoppers 1st XV, has represented and captained England Counties U18 and U20 on their tours of Ireland and Romania respectively. He too has played at Twickenham for Lancashire (as captain) in the Jason Leonard U20 County Championship Final 2019.
Basking in reflected glory, we would like to send our huge congratulations to Sam and Sally, and of course to Lisa too. What fantastic achievements, and well worth celebrating.
