Scott & Wilkinson invited to give MTD Presentation at IAgSA Training Day

We were delighted to be invited by Joyce Crackles and Rebecca Raby of The Institute of Agricultural Secretaries and Administrators (IAgSA) to give a presentation to the Cumbria and Lancashire branches of IAgSA. Speaking on behalf of Scott & Wilkinson were James Cornthwaite, Alan Taylor and Richard Proudlove, discussing Making Tax Digital (MTD), with particular focus on the current and future plans for MTD and how IAgSA members can assist accountants with delivering on the requirements for MTD.

Richard opened proceedings by providing an update on MTD for VAT, detailing the latest requirements for businesses that are VAT registered. They then went on to provide an overview of the current planned timeline for MTD for Self-Assessment Income Tax (MTD ITSA) and what the implications and requirements will be for those affected.

James then gave a presentation outlining ways in which bookkeepers and farm secretaries can advise their clients on how to be better prepared for MTD. This was followed up with advice on how to streamline systems and improve cooperation between accountants and bookkeepers and farm secretaries to improve the service offered to our clients when it comes to preparing year-end accounts and tax returns.
