Scott & Wilkinson Invited to Address UK200.

Alan Taylor discusses IT and how the ever-changing landscape is affecting professional accountancy and legal practices.

The UK200Group was formed in 1986 and is the UK’s leading association of independent chartered accountants and law firms, with connections around the world. Associate Alan Taylor was invited to address a recent meeting and discuss how the rapid changes in IT and legislation impact on practices such as ours. In addition to looking after his many clients, Alan oversees IT for Scott & Wilkinson and knows just how quickly things have moved over the last decade.

During the evening Alan considered not only the speed and frequency of new developments, the most recent issue being the demands of GDPR compliancy, but also the changing attitudes towards IT by the firm’s staff and clients. Clients are increasingly IT savvy and expect their professional advisors to be ahead of the game while the training, hardware and software requirements of the workforce put a strain on the firm’s running costs and IT resources.

After the serious business of the meeting, the Scott & Wilkinson team were able to relax and enjoy the more sociable side of the event. It was great to catch up with many familiar faces and get to meet some new ones.
